The Cul-de-sac Earrings are named for their resemblance to the eponymous building blocks of the suburban neighborhood. They are inspired by organic shapes in abstract art.

The term cul-de-sac originated from the French translation "bottom of the sack" for its bulbous shape. The earliest examples were unearthed in Egypt, which were built circa 1885 BC.
